Use

Pair the tag through the Find My app, then attach it wherever you like. It behaves just like any other item on your list: you can make it ring, and see its last known location. If it moves away, the Apple network can flag it when an Apple device passes nearby — without the owner of that device knowing anything about you.

Care

Rinse the casing with clean water if it gets dirty, then dry it. Replace the battery when the ring sound weakens.

Please note

This tag works via Bluetooth, with a range of a few dozen metres. It contains no GPS chip or SIM card, and requires no subscription. It helps you find a misplaced item nearby, or locate the last place your phone detected it. It is not a substitute for a GPS collar and cannot track a runaway pet. On a collar, it's useful for locating a cat napping in the house or garden, not for finding one miles away.
